• What is Tonalin® CLA?

  CLA is conjugated linoleic acid, a fatty acid known to promote optimum body composition. Tonalin® CLA is derived by a proprietary process from natural safflower oil, a vegetarian source of linoleic acid. Tonalin® is the highest quality form of CLA on the market. It is a patented product, uniquely consistent in purity and quality.

• How does Tonalin® CLA work in the body?

  CLA works in four ways:

  1. Decreases the number and size of adipocytes (fat cells), lowering your body-fat mass.
  2. Decreases the activity of LPL enzymes which help to store triglycerides (fats) in adipocytes (fat cells). With regular use of CLA, less fat gets stored.
  3. Increases apoptosis, the rate at which fat cells disintegrate, thus reducing the number of existing fat cells in your body.
  4. Increases activity of the enzyme CPT (carnitine palmitoyltransferase), so fat is burned up faster—leaving less of it in your body.
• Does Tonalin® CLA have other health benefits?

  Research shows Tonalin® CLA may promote other aspects of wellness. Benefits may include higher energy levels, an enhanced immune system and protection against catabolic effects of immune stimulation. Initial studies have also suggested that CLA may aid in the maintenance of blood glucose and insulin.

• Who uses Tonalin® CLA?

  Everyone from athletes and bodybuilders to dieters or people who just want to stay healthy and fit can enjoy the benefits of Tonalin® CLA. The most effective approach is to supplement a healthy diet and exercise program with the recommended dosage.

• How often should I take Tonalin® CLA?

  The suggested daily intake is 3.0 grams of CLA daily. This dosage can be from dietary supplements or from functional foods fortified with Tonalin® CLA. A minimum dosage of 1.7 grams of CLA/day is needed to achieve body fat reduction. Tonalin® can be taken at any time of day, but it is suggested that the dietary supplement form be taken with meals. NOTE: Tonalin® CLA can have benefits without exercise. But it is more effective, and much more beneficial to your overall health, when combined with regular exercise and a healthy diet.

• What diets work best with Tonalin® CLA?

  Tonalin® CLA has not been studied in conjunction with specific diets. However, studies show that Tonalin® CLA does enhance the results of an exercise regime, especially when combined with a balanced, healthy diet including plenty of fruits, vegetables and whole grains.

• Can a vegetarian take Tonalin® CLA?

  The oil inside most dietary supplement capsules is 100% vegetable sourced; however, most capsules are produced from bovine sources. If you wish to avoid gelatin capsules, Tonalin® is also available in a triglyceride form which can be taken by the spoonful. Tonalin® is also available in functional foods that may be vegetarian sourced.

• Can I take Tonalin® CLA with my prescription drug?

  No clinical studies have been performed on the interactions of Tonalin® CLA with prescription medications. Please consult your physician before taking this or any other dietary supplementation.

• If I am pregnant or nursing can I take Tonalin® CLA?

  While Tonalin® CLA is an excellent diet aid that may help you shed unwanted body fat, there have been no clinical studies on its effect during pregnancy and lactation. Although CLA is a naturally occurring trace element in everyday foods such as meat and dairy products, if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant or are lactating, please consult a healthcare professional before taking this or any other dietary supplement.

• How safe is Tonalin® CLA - are there side effects?

  Tonalin® CLA is well-tolerated and effective. It does not contain any natural or artificial stimulants. No serious adverse side effects have been observed with the recommended dose. Toxicological studies in animals have also shown Tonalin® CLA to be safe even at extremely high doses. A two-year clinical study also reported no serious adverse effects with long-term CLA supplementation.

• Does Tonalin® CLA contain ephedra?

  Tonalin® CLA is derived from safflower oil, which is a natural 100% lipid product. Tonalin® CLA does not contain any natural or artificial ephedra.
